This 2023 Ford Transit T-350HD SRW is a rare gem: a low-mileage, AWD, high-capacity van with a professional custom build. It’s quieter than a modern SUV, packed with cutting-edge tech, and designed for off-grid adventures or heavy-duty tasks. With a 4-person seating/sleeping capacity, indoor/outdoor shower, and garage space for a motorcycle, it’s a one-of-a-kind rig that saves you thousands compared to building a similar van from scratch. We went the Transit because it has the highest interior height available, best tow package and performance by far, and it uses the proven highest power gas eco boost 3.5L twin turbo engine. Unlike the German counterparts this means reliability with the option to stop into any Ford dealership for service.
This is a rare 2023 Ford Transit T-350HD Single Rear Wheel (SRW) with All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and a 9,950 GVWR – the highest-capacity SRW option available. Powered by a 3.5L EcoBoost Twin-Turbo V6, we built this van to be a high-tech, comfortable, do-anything vehicle. Just rolled over 10,000 miles, $10,000 in factory upgrades, and a meticulous custom conversion, this van originally retailed for ~$70,000 before the build. Perfect for van life, overlanding, or hauling toys like a motorcycle, this Transit is ready for your next adventure.
Condition & History
We originally built for rental through our company. However, we grew emotionally attached and decided it was too nice to rent out. Due to a change in plans and limited use (hence the low mileage), we did sell our baby. Full build photos from day one are available to the buyer.
This van is complete and in pristine condition. We built this van in a modular way. This design not only maximizes space but also allows easy removal of panels for future upgrades. If you don’t need the second upper bed it could easily be removed, even further rails removed and holes covered. Recent Mobil 1 synthetic oil change, new 2024 BFGoodrich tires, and a clean title in hand. I purchased new for this build, it’s from a non-smoking, non-shedding pet household and remains under factory warranty:

FAQ
Cooking: We used a portable high performance 120V 2-burner induction cooktop (boils water in ~45 seconds). 8 AC outlets (including one on the counter) support indoor/outdoor cooking, with an extension cord for picnic table use. The Ecoflow system handles extended cooking sessions.
Toilet: We used a Trelino urine-diverting toilet in the shower for emergencies, with removable containers for easy disposal.
Refrigerator: We used a portable Anker Everfrost battery-powered/plug-in fridge, mountable behind the rear seat or elsewhere via L-Track. Stays cold for up to 3 days when unplugged, ideal for campground use.
Air Conditioning: The Van A/C works well for keeping the entire vehicle cool when running/driving due to the well insulated nature of the build. There is no permanent A/C. Instead, we rely on a Max-Air Roof fan and an Ecoflow WAVE2 when needed. It sits in the area of the rear seat with the ducting running outside the vented CLR rear passenger opening window. Excessive heat has never been an issue for us living/traveling in the PNW. The Ecoflow Powerkit does support 48V for an in roof option and there are some newer 12V heat pump options that would replace the roof fan if you’d like to adapt either option.
It’s challenging to find a van with a better thought-out layout. We’ve maximized space and overall functionality in what we have created.
