There is both a quarter turn shutoff and timer inline with the gas line going to the BBQ.
The gas valve will need to be pointed in line with the line
You will also need to reach behind the BBQ to turn the timer up to 60 minutes at a time before lighting the BBQ. If you require more time you can turn the timer clockwise prior to the timer ending towards the end of your grilling session.
To light the grill you need to slowly open the respective valve to allow gas to flow for a second and continue turning, it will get to a point where some resistance is overcome and you should feel/hear the ignitor. If it doesn’t light initially try again. You’re more likely to light on the first try if you perform the light sequence slowly.
